BURQA GIRLS
Burqa Girls is a performance art collective made up of Asma Kazmi and Anuradha Vikram. Riffing on the title and strategy of the Guerrilla Girls, Burqa Girls understand the subversive potential of invisibility as a position of power. Using the language of theatrical play, pedagogy, camp, and video installation, Burqa Girls integrates historic, religious, literary, and present contexts of this subversive act.
